OVERLAND NORTHEAST THAILAND & SIEM REAP (CAMBODIA)

Pick up from your hotel in Bangkok. Depart for Nakhon Ratchasima via Saraburi. On the way pass KhaoYai National Park which stretches over 4 provinces of Thailand. Khao Yai became Thailand’s first national park in 1962 and is also originally recognized as the National Park Heritage of Asian Group Countries. Then continue to see a local market an pass Lamtakhong Dam. Before reaching Nakhon Ratchasima you visit Phranon Sema, a Reclining Buddha image made of red sand stone which is the most ancient and largest in Thailand. The image is assumed to be built 200 BC. Various archaeological evidence within the area include bronze Buddha images, terra-cotta Buddha printing images, glass beads and inscription stones. After lunch at local restaurant, visit Phimai Historical Park, one of the greatest and most important Khmer historical sites in Thailand. The Phimai Sanctuary is rectangular in shape and is 565 meters wide and 1,030 meters long. It consists of ornately carved sandstone and laterite structures. The most special characteristic of the sanctuary is that it is the only one that faces south while the others usually face east. Then make a short visit to the 350 years old Banyan Tree Park “ Sai Ngam “ on the Mun River. Overnight at hotel in Nakhonratchasima.

Breakfast at hotel. Visit the village of Baan Dan Kwian to view various kinds of earthenware products. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, visit La-Lu, a large area, about 800 acres, with many earth pillars in various shapes. They are indeed an amazingly beautiful site of nature. Afterwards proceed to Prasat Sadokkokthom , Khmer ruins constructed in the 9th century. Continue to Aranyaprathet and visit a local market. Overnight at hotel in Aranyaprathet.

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Cambodian border for entry to Cambodia , accompanied by local English speaking guide for customer and immigration formalities. Leave border by road to Siem Reap. Lunch at local restaurant. Arrive Siem Reap in late evening and visit Phnom Bakheng to view sunset from Bakheng hill. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Banteay Srei temple and southern Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon,
Baphoun, Phimean Akas, Elephant Terrace and Terrace of the Leper King. Afternoon visit Taprohm and Angkor Wat Temple. Dinner at local restaurant with APSARA dancing performance. Overnight at at STEUNG SIEM REAP HOTEL or PRINCESS ANGKOR or similar.

Breakfast at hotel. Proceed to Tonle Sap (Great Lake) to take a boat trip to see Floating villages and enjoy watching fish farms and have a spectacular view along Tonle Sap. Enjoy Shopping at Siem Reap market. Have Lunch at a local restaurant before your transfer to Siem Reap airport.
