Reception by the tour guide at Phnom Penh Airport. The Cyclo will take you to the Royal Palace in the middle of a park on the riverbank in the afternoon. The silver pagoda is located on the grounds of the Royal Palace and the bottom of the pagoda is laid out with thousands of small silver tiles. The silver pagoda with its emerald Buddha is one of the few buildings that survived the destructive period of the Khmer Rouge unharmed. Visit of the neighboring National Museum with the largest collection of ancient Khmer art.

Drive over the provincial capital Takeo to Kep. On the way visit the Tonle Bati with the temple Ta Prohm. If the season allows (around August to December), the speedboat will take you on waterways, some of which were built in the Funan Empire 2,000 years ago, to the Phnom Da Temple. On the way you stop at Angkor Borei, which houses a small museum about the Funan Empire. Continue to Kep. The village (about 40,000 inhabitants) has direct access to the Gulf of Thailand and is one of the most famous coastal cities in Cambodia. (F)
You will stay in the “Veranda Natural Resort” in the middle of the Kep National Park, on a hill overlooking the sea. It features Khmer-style wooden bungalows, an outdoor pool and is 1.5 km from a small beach

In the morning Kep National Park
Covering 50 square kilometers, Kep National Park is a verdant oasis offering fun hikes across this low land tropical forest. The main shady 8km route circumnavigates Kep hill, affording beautiful panoramic views of the southern coast and sea breeze. The second half of the walk will reveal crumbling remains of not so recent past: the ghosts of post-war modernist villas remain quietly hidden in the jungle undergrowth evoking feelings of forgotten glory and abundance.
For those seeking a more challenging workout can take the transverse path or check out the various trails to sites such as Nun’s Pass, Stone Horse and Little Buddha. For one of the best sunset viewpoints make the 182m climb to Sunset Rock and admire the iridescent hues that brush across Kep’s skyline. (We recommend you take a flashlight for the way down).
The landscape between Kep and Kampot is studded with Limestone Mountains, hiding forgotten caves and Buddhist shrines. Visit the cave complex of Phnom Chhnork, located just outside Kampot, known for its impressive formations of stalagmites and stalagtites and well preserved 7th Century brick temple shrine to Shiva in the main chamber.
The beautiful surrounds of the green Cambodian countryside and rice fields lead you to the next stop, the so-called “Secret Lake”, created through hard labour under the Khmer Rouge as an irrigation dam, now providing a scenic location for a picnic or a swim.
Note: This tour can be taken by tuk-tuk, but due to the road conditions we recommend the adventurous option of motorbike.
