Overnight in Beijing

Today visit to the Temple of Heaven, a Taoist complex visited by the Emperors of Ming & Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest. See the local pensioners meet in the gardens of Temple of Heaven tosing, dance and practice Tai Chi or Chi Kung together. A sight that is truly an authentic rural daily life of the happy and energetic elderly people in Beijing.

Afternoon excursion to the Great Wall (Badaling Section), which was built in 770-475 B.C. Climb on top of the 2484 miles long Great Wall and see superb mountain scenery. The battlements and watchtowers are high and steep in places, and provide wonderful views across the hills. Continue to the Great Wall Museum to learn more details of the history of the Great Wall.

Overnight in Beijing

Morning visit to Tiananmen Square, a large city square in the center of Beijing. It has a great cultural significance as it was the site of several important events in Chinese history. Then after, visit the Forbidden City, the world’s largest surviving palace complex.
The afternoon continues with a visit to Hutongs, consisting of small lanes or alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound of houses around a courtyard) where old Beijing residents live. Witness the vicissitude of the city by riding a trishaw.

Morning transfer to the train station to board the Speedy Train G653(0745/1348) Beijing West / Xian North – 2nd Class
Arrival at Xian, a city with history of over 3000 years, it served as China’s earliest capital for eleven dynasties more than 1100 years in which the Chinese have created their brilliant civilization and left behind various historical sites and relics.

Visit Han Yang Ling Tomb Museum (terracotta of HAN Dynasty) which is the historical site designated for state protection. This mausoleum which combines modern technology, ancient civilization, historical culture and garden scenery, is built at the base of the joint tomb of Emperor Jindi and his Empress.

Overnight in XIAN

Visit to Terracotta Warriors, a place where more than 6000 life-sized terracotta figures of soldiers and horses arranged in a perfect battle array showing the superb sculptural art of that era. The visits included are; Pit No.1, No2, No3 and the Museum of Bronze Chariots and Terracotta Horses.

In the afternoon, transfer back to Xian and enjoy a bike ride around the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Old City Wall, one of the oldest and best-preserved Chinese city walls. Walk along the Muslim Quarter in the old city center, see a local gourmet market which attracts visitors from all over the world.

Overnight in Xian

Transfer to airport by flight MU2151 (0900/1115) Xian/Shanghai.
Arrival Shanghai and transfer for visit to Longhua Temple, the oldest and largest temple in
Shanghai. Because of the several destructions by the wars, most of the buildings in Longhua Temple were reconstructed during the reign of the Emperor Tongzhi and Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty.

Visit the Yu Garden with a history of more than 400 years and decorated with masterpieces of architecture. Enjoy some free time and go strolling in Shanghai Old Town, a perfect combination of gardens, temples, old architecture, civil culture, business, souvenirs and food.

Walking on the Bund, famous waterfront in China; one of the symbols of Shanghai, showcases the world with its famous foreign buildings complex. From The Bund you will have a wonderful view of the forest of skyscrapers on the opposite bank of the Huangpu River in Pudong

Walk along Nanjing Road, China’s premier pedestrian and shopping street.

Overnight in Shanghai

Full day excursion to Suzhou by car, a city with history of more than 2,500 years and is also named as the “City of Gardens”. In Suzhou, we will visit the Garden of Net’s Master, included amongst the finest gardens in Suzhou and recognized with other classical Suzhou gardens as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next is a visit to a Silk Factory and a 30-mins boat ride on a sidearm of Emperor’s Canal

In the afternoon, walk along Ping Jiang Road, a picturesque stone route bridge over a flowing river. See houses with white walls and black roofs built along the stone road and observe a scenery of a traditional Suzhou local life.

Transfer to airport by flight FM9349 (1200/1400) Pudong / Guilin
Arrival in Guilin. Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure.

Today to the pier for a Li River Cruise to Yangshuo. Cruise past extraordinary peaks, sprays of bamboo lining, riverbanks, fishers in small boats and picturesque villages
Afternoon arrival in Yangshuo, transfer to yout hotel and enjoy the rest of the day free at your own leisure

The Day is free at leisure until till transfer to Guilin West Station (1.5hrs) by direct Speedy Train G311(1338/1654) Guilin West / HK West Kowloon – 2nd Class.
