Meet your local guide at the airport upon arrival and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the town on your own.
Depending on your arrival time, you can choose an ‘Optional Activity’ (see chart below). Price on request, not included in the tour price.
In the evening you will enjoy a show at Phare, the Cambodian Circus Show. Uniquely Cambodian, and daringly modern Siem Reap’s most unique, authentic, top rated evening entertainment. More than just a circus, Phare performers use theater, music, dance and modern circus arts to tell uniquely Cambodian stories; historical, folk and modern. The young circus artists will astonish you with their energy, emotion, enthusiasm and talent (there are NO animal performances at Phare Circus).

Today, after breakfast at your hotel, start by taking a local remork (Tuk Tuk) to reach the temple area of Angkor. Your visit will include many of the finest Temples of King Jayavarman VII. At the southern gate of Angkor Thom, you will marvel at the imposing 23m high stone faces of Avalokiteshvara, featured in the Tomb Raider movie. These astonishing carvings inspire awe and wonder in all who view them. At the centre of this citadel lies the state temple of Bayon, which you will also visit. This temple-mountain, built at the end of the 12th century, is adorned with hundreds of gigantic stone faces.
Later in the day you will discover one of the most famous temples – Ta Prohm. It is a truly unique temple due to the massive trees with thick roots that entangle the walls.
End temple sightseeing tour today at the magnificent Angkor Wat till late afternoon. Angkor Wat, which literally means ‘City Temple’, is a Hindu temple complex built to replicate the heavens on earth. The temple is the epitome of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. This magnificent temple combines two basic plans of Khmer temple architecture; the temple mountain and the later galleried temple, based on early South Indian Hindu architecture.
Tonight you will spend the night at the Bong Thom Forest Lodge, located ca. 25 km outside Siem Reap in the country site. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the Lodge’s swimming pool with a spectacular view over the surrounding area.
Dinner is served at the traditional wooden house restaurant at the Lodge.

In the morning start a tour by Ox Cart. Visit a family producing palm sugar and experience the rural farmer’s lives. Stop at the Banteay Srey Butterfly Centre (BBC) to learn about the colorful butterflies of Cambodia. Like the Forest Lodge & Home Stay the Butterfly Centre provides support for the local villagers and conservation projects.
Lunch at the Bong Thom Forest Lodge.
Then continue the tour by car to the great Tonle Sap Lake to visit Kampong Phluk Floating
Village. This isolated community of three villages is built on stilts. These scenic villages are flooded for around half the year (Aug/Sept – Feb), enabling journeys by local boats that provide income for the local community. You will take the small boat through the flooded mangrove forests; this unique ecosystem survives on wet soil for half the year, fostering a variety of wildlife. Return by boat and vehicle to Siem Reap.
Important Note: the visit to Kampong Phluk Floating Village depends on the water level during the time of visit. Should the excursion be cancelled due to low water levels, a visit to the Floating Village or an alternative activity will be provided.
